CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

The Association of Professional Piercers is a US based non-profit, health and safety organization dedicated to the dissemination of vital information related to body piercing to piercers, health care providers, law makers, manufacturers and the general public. Our primary outlets for the education of piercers are our annual educational conferences. During 2003 the APP will renew its commitment to the European community with the second such full-scale conference. With wide reaching regulations in the works piercer education and unity is vital now, more than ever, for all European studios. In addition, we hope that the 2003 event will generate enough response to facilitate additional EU conferences. Once again we are making every effort to recruit educators and manufacturers who are active within the European piercing community.

Our goals are:

• To facilitate a neutral forum for piercers, in which they may discuss the problems they face in their particular country or region.
• To provide an opportunity for networking between piercers, studio owners and country specific piercing related organizations.
• To provide universal, current education related to body piercing.
• To allow manufacturers to showcase new products and materials directly to the piercers they serve.
• To provide a forum in which European piercers can discuss guideline standardization for their areas, countries and Europe as a whole.
