We have meticulously and diligently strived to generate an updated
APP manual. This modern version of our widely read handbook has
the most current, in-depth, relevant, and useful information available
anywhere at any price on the topic of body piercing.
- A FREE subscription to APP's quarterly newsletter, THE
POINT
This publication includes features about new products and jewelry,
reports of body piercing in the media, reviews of studios, letters
from members, and information on techniques, as well as legislation
updates, business news, classified ads and more. YOU, as a member,
are welcome to participate and have your voice or opinions heard
by submitting an article to THE POINT.
- The opportunity to attend the members-only classes at the
Annual APP Conference
New special features at the Conference include a Members- only
Meeting, plus one or more seminars (including technique seminars)that
are open exclusively to member attendees.
- A discount on the APP Conference
When you are a member in good standing with current video on file,
and paid dues, you will receive $50.00 off the annual APP conference
cost.
- An opportunity to vote and voice your opinion
Members are encouraged to become involved, volunteer to serve
on committees, to run for Board positions, and to have their say
by participating in the Association. If you feel something could
be done better, we want you to come and show us how!
- A listing on the APP web site
This amounts to automatic referrals. Numerous piercees are familiar
with APP, trust our members, and wish to patronize only our studios.
They won't be pierced elsewhere. These consumers regularly use
the APP Web Site Member Listing to locate the members in their
region and to refer their friends and associates.

There are a number of manufacturers of the finest quality body
jewelry, companies that sell care products, medical supplies,
and other providers of related products and services, each offering
only APP members special discounts with current membership status.
- Marketing and referrals
The APP has a budget for advertising in tattoo magazines and other
various publications. Every time the APP promotes itself, it endorses
all of its members simultaneously. APP Members are regularly contacted
for referrals on safe, hygienic piercers in other regions. These
members refer to other APP members.

Members in good standing are permitted, with specific rules, to
use the APP Logo on their web sites and in their print advertising.

As an APP member,you have the strength of an organization behind
you. When it comes to legislators, inspectors, and also clients,
the power of numbers is not to be denied. As a member you are
a part of the first and largest organization of this kind! If
you are part of a membership organization, performing piercings
hygienically, according to the accepted industry standards, you
are much less vulnerable to legal attack. Your actions are more
defensible and you will be more creditable as a member of a health,
safety, and education organization.
Legislators in need of input and assistance regularly contact
the APP for information and advice. We are powerful. APP members
are internationally regarded as up-to-date, trustworthy, knowledgeable
experts in this field. When you become a member, that status
by association is an undeniable benefit.
