Initial dues will be billed upon acceptance of an application and must be paid in order to activate membership.
Annual dues will be billed at the end of each calendar year and must be paid to maintain membership.

Is required at least every two years if:

  • Member joins the studio staff
    OR
  • Significant changes are made within the studio.

Works full time as a piercer, and has more than one year of professional piercing experience. 

Requirements:

  • Complete Personal Criteria application
  • Complete Environmental criteria
  • Application fee $50

An existing professional Business Member who is piercing temporarily or periodically at one or more studios that meet environmental criteria OR a previous professional Business Member who is still contributing to the piercing industry although they are no longer piercing. This type of membership and its limitations will be at the discretion of the Board. **Transfer request form coming soon**

  • Complete Personal Criteria application up to date
  • Work Record required
  • Existing members only
  • Renewal dues $50
Non-piercer working in a piercing establishment (example: managers, jewelry buyers, counter staff).  

Requirements:

  • Complete Personal Criteria application
  • Complete Environmental criteria
  • Application fee $50
  • Initial Dues $100
  • Renewal dues $50
This category is reserved for membership organizations that are educational non-profits or not-for-profits that seek to promote the name and mission of the APP, and whose educational outreach is in line with the APP mission. 

Requirements:

  • Initial Dues $200
Someone not actively involved in the body piercing industry, but who supports the APP and its goals. This membership may not be used for the promotion of any form of piercing services, jewelry sales, or web services. Dues are the only requirement for this membership.

Corporate Sponsorship
An entity or individual working in a field involved with or providing support to the field of body piercing can provide sponsorship for the APP. Examples of Corporate Sponsors are jewelry manufacturers, medical suppliers, insurers, educators, etc.
Application submission will require the following items to be considered by the APP Board of Directors:
  • Business Documentation (like licensure or permitting)
  • Letter of intent
  • Samples and/or chemical analysis of products (to be evaluated by the Membership Liaison on a case-by-case basis)

Initial dues: $200
Annual Renewal Dues: $200

Right to Refusal — The Association of Professional Piercers (APP), its Board of Directors and Officers, reserve the right to accept or refuse any Sponsorship or proposed Sponsorship of the organization and any of its events, or offerings, at its sole discretion. The APP reserves the right to discontinue Sponsorships of the organization and any of its events, or offerings, and return any contributions made for any reason.

Sponsorship & Contribution Approval — The Association of Professional Piercers (APP), its Board of Directors and Officers, make the final decision about accepting a contribution; a declined contribution may affect your Conference Tier level qualification or Sponsor standing with the APP and its events or offerings.
